Come march with the Anacostia Community Museum! The museum invites you to be part of this historical event. Over one thousand ‘Peace Walkers’ join annually in the walk along MLK Ave in Southeast DC. Notable previous year attendees included actor and singer Nick Cannon, Mayor Muriel Bowser, former Mayor and more. This event is held annually on the federal MLK holiday and is organized by the Coalition for Peace, a group of individuals and non-profits dedicated to peace and positivity for the Washington DC metropolitan communities.Learn more HERE.

6. THE ALLEYESONDC SHOW: GO GO’S AFRICAN ROOTS

More than a month after their return from the Motherland, Team Familiar, D.C.’s premier grown and sexy go-go band, will reflect on what they learned during their five-day excursion in Nigeria. During which they showcased the go-go sound for African royalty, met legends, and learned about percussion’s African roots.
